VSB Health and Safety collaborates with Vancouver Coastal Health Authority (VCHA) staff and medical health officers to manage communicable diseases efficiently.

The District’s Communicable Disease Prevention Plan (V12-Jun. 13, 2024) aligns with the latest Ministry of Education and Child Care and BC Centre for Disease Control (BCCDC) guidelines. These include:

• BC Provincial Communicable Disease Guidelines for K-12 Settings (Aug 25, 2022)
• Public Health Communicable Disease Guidance for K-12 Schools (Aug 25, 2022)

Preventative measures are in place to ensure a safe environment for staff and students. The BCCDC and VCHA encourage eligible staff and students to get vaccinated and stay home when infectious. For more information, refer to:
