Introduction
This course will prepare you to solve a variety of math problems that may arise in everyday life. You will cultivate an understanding of graphs, trigonometry, unit conversions, surface area and volume, data measurements, probability, and different types of income.
Where does this course fit?
- Pre-requisite: Math 9
- Graduation Status: One of the Grade 10 Mathematics options required for graduation
- Required to continue to Workplace Math 11, but will not suffice to continue to Foundations of Mathematics 11 or Pre-Calculus 11

Unit | Description |
Graphing | You will learn how to construct and interpret different types of graphs |
Unit Conversions | You will learn how to convert units such as from imperial to metric units |
Surface Area & Volume | You will learn how to calculate surface area and volume for composite 3D objects |
Trigonometry | You will learn how to find trigonometric ratios and angles in different “right angle triangle” situations to solve problems |
Central Tendency | You will learn how to find and use the mean, mode, median and outlier to interpret data sets |
Probability | You will learn how to find the probability of an event while considering multiple and dependent factors |
Financial Literacy | You will learn how to calculate what your income might be in different situations |
