Introduction
Workplace Mathematics 11 fully meets the learning outcomes of the BC Curriculum. This course meets the graduation requirements for Grade 11 math. It is designed for students who go straight into the workforce or intend to pursue an apprenticeship after graduation.
Where does this course fit?
- Pre-requisites: Workplace Mathematics 10 or Foundations and Pre-Calculus Mathematics 10 are recommended
- Graduation Status: One of the Grade 11/12 Mathematics options required for graduation

Brief Outline
Unit | Description |
StartUp Assignment | To do the startup quiz and the startup assignment, students need to grasp the content of Slope and Rate of Change. |
3D Objects & Rate of Change | Students will explore Scale Drawings, Models, 2D and 3D representations. |
Probability | Students will learn probability through Dice Games, Card Games, and Board Games. Expected Value is also covered in this unit. |
Statistics | By studying Frequency Tables, Histograms, and Frequency Polygons, students will know how to display data in different ways. Misuse of Statistics and Misleading Graphs are also discussed. |
Finances | In this unit, students might be happy to learn how to manage their finances currently or in their future life by studying the topics of Budgets, Interest, Credit Cards, Loans, Investments, and Mortgages. |
